What is public
Public teardowns show the report layers Mark has made available for research and discovery. You can read the format call, logline, script structure, cuts, blueprint, sound, cast/world, and recipe surfaces when they are part of that teardown. Live example: Coinbase - “Break The Cycle” teardown.Search, tags, and category pages
Search matches every word you enter, in any order, and ignores punctuation and accent differences. Use format filters to broaden within a format set, then add tags to narrow to teardowns that carry every selected tag (AND). Tags are grouped into seven dimensions. Four of them — opening hook, job of the video, length, and where it ran — are exclusive: a teardown carries at most one tag from each, so picking a second one inside that group swaps the selection. Tags are descriptive study facets. They never change a teardown’s primary category or its link. Category pages continue to live at:?tag=…&tag=…) and are not separate pages.

The same library is available to your connected assistant through three read-only, free tools. Every result is a public permalink plus a bounded study summary — reference material to learn the mechanism from, never footage.list_teardown_tags(dimension?, include_counts?)
Returns the vocabulary above — dimensions, tag keys, labels, one-line
definitions, aliases — and how many public teardowns carry each tag. Pass keys
(not labels) to find_teardowns.
find_teardowns(goal?, format?, tags?, hook_type?, quality?, limit?, offset?)
Ranked shortlist. Filters combine with AND: format (a facet slug), tags
(any mix of dimensions — hook-cold-open, under-30s, youtube, …),
hook_type (the opening-hook enum; identical to the matching hook-* tag),
quality (viral, hot, new, 4k). limit up to 25: five or fewer return
the full card; more than five return a compact list (slug, title, category,
tags, views, duration, permalink) — open any of them with get_teardown.
offset pages the same order.
get_teardown(slug)
One teardown’s study detail: the card (title, category, tags by dimension,
metrics, permalink, public source link when available), a bounded study of the
mechanism — opening hook, first beats, insights, pacing and shot stats, music
switches, whether it runs without voiceover — and up to three related
teardowns in the same format.
Run this on your video
Public teardown pages can point you back into your own analysis flow. Use this when a public example shows the kind of report you want, but you need the same breakdown for your product, category, or client source.Download and sign-in gates
Some actions, especially downloads, saving to Library, paid assets, and running your own teardown, require sign-in or a paid plan. Browsing public teardowns is free; production assets and private research live behind the relevant plan and credit gates.Related pages
